Selling yachts when they are still in concept form can be a little nerve racking as there is always an incredible amount of detail within each project, so when we finally got the chance to see our latest new build emerge from the build shed sporting her custom paint job we were eager to jump onboard and we couldn’t be happier with the end result !
Descending from the Italian word for ‘Lightning’, the Riva Folgore 88’ has certainly bolted its way into the marine industry. This flagship model has paved the way for the future generations of Riva’s Sportfly yacht range. This boat caters to a variety of taste palates, through her unique design which unites past and present. The SYM Superyacht Management team were stunned by this dazzling model when we had the pleasure of delivering one recently.
Alluring both the thrill- seekers and pleasure-cruisers, Riva has achieved the perfect harmony between style and sporty innovation. The Folgore’s sleek lines and smoked facade contribute to this model's distinct low-profile. The exterior finishes on the Folgore 88’ echo a design where both modern and classic prevail. These styles coexist in elements of the boat such as the carbon and steel handrail, contrasting with the classic Mahogany swimming platform.
Riva have been generous in their social spacing on this boat. From bow to stern, there are plentiful outdoor areas to worship the sun. On the foredeck, there is a double sun pad, as well as u-shaped seating. Abaft follows a similar layout with its u-shaped seating, also equipped with a table which doubles up as a sunpad structure. If two sunpads were not enough, up on the flybridge, this boat has a third sunpad. With this sunpad positioned centre aft and being accompanied on the by a bar with two stools- this boat's design creates opportunity for both socialising and relaxing on the same deck. In spite of the Folgore’s discreet upper deck being barely visible to maintain its sporty look, Riva have not compromised on the enjoyment aspects at all.
Sunlight in the Saloon
From the helm, right back to the cockpit doors, the Folgore’s interior is all open plan. This unseparated space, creating a vast sense of volume, a similar feel to being inside a modern home - further accentuated by its 2m minimum interior height. The wallpaper of this interior is simply the ocean and its horizon. Fitted with large windows which span the width of the saloon, natural light radiates in from the structural glass surrounds. This new model is most certainly the hostess with the mostest. Undeniably, this model has extraordinary hospitality features, including the dining table which has the capability to seat up to 8 people.
It is clear that Riva took great attention to detail during the design process of the Folgore 88’. From carbon detailing on the armrests right through to the placement of the command post in the centre, designed to be in touch with the surrounding natural elements, every inch of this boat has been meticulously crafted. On the interior, the sunroof has been fitted with adjustable slats, creating scope for maximum light to be directed in. The team at Riva have refined each and every detail to ensure optimum luxury. Pivoting garage system Notably, when enjoying time onboard any yacht, the aim is to have fun. This is made possible on the Folgore 88’ through the garage's ability to house a Williams Sportjet 395, as well as a jetski. In addition, there is sufficient room around any other toys that may be desired. The pivoting garage system has dual benefits. One of which allows for efficient launch and recovery of the toys. As the platform maneuvers towards the water it creates a ramp-like surface to aid with tender operations. A further perk of this system is that the ordinary bathing platform can be tilted to create a shore-like feature for the guests.
